Niagara-on-the-Lake continues to attract Retirees from the GTA.

St. Davids, Ontario – continues to lead the charge with new housing developments aimed at the active retiree. St. Davids, Ontario is located at the south end of Niagara-on-the-Lake and borders the escarpment and Niagara Falls, Ontario. Known for its quaintness these new developments have been aimed at the upper middle priced housing. Townhouses start at just under $300,000 and go to $450,000. Apricot Glen, St. Davids is just about finished with the last phase being the towns of Harvest Creek being built by Grey Forest homes. This new development sold  quick as they are the perfect size to downsize to (1200 sq ft). Harvest creek the new town houses start at $295,000.

Courtland Estates,  a small housing development of  towns and single detached. located justt off Tanbark is now finished and resales are starting.  Cheryl and Trish sold one of the first resales in the neighbourhood at a good return for the seller.  This new development is popular for retires from the GTA – you never know you may find a friend already living in St. Davids. 

 

 

 

 

Settlement of St. Davids, located just below the Niagara Escarpment this new development has attracted some of the regions premier builders as many of the lots back onto the escarpment, pond or the St.Davids golf course. Gatta Homes was one of the first to recognize the uniqueness of the location and primarily built custome homes -there are a number of new homes for sale in this new development. There are still some lots available and so far two sets of townhouses were built close to the golf course and are now reselling for $640K.

This is one of the largest new developments in the area, the plan is to turn the Queenston Quarry into a golf course, vineyard and hotel complex as well as a residential area the 248-acre property sits on the edge of the escarpment. The proposal will include 750 condominium apartments, 36 townhouses and 5 detached homes. The detached homes will join Bevan Heights and at time of writing, 3 of the 5 lots are sold. Niagara-on-the-Lake, Old Town

New developments in the old town proper continue as infill areas and new streets. Although there is land for large development the town is slow in allowing big scale development to help preserve what makes the town unique.
